Ofcourse they aren't perfect, but I wouldn't say they are criminal.

There is nothing to negotiate when there is a foreign army in the country.

Al Shabaab isn't perfect but u can hardly call them criminal, they are the most legit group out there right now. I never seen Al Shabaab indiscriminately shelling civilians, or killing them mercilessly.

Al Shabaab was there in 2006 and none of this was happening, what changed in the equation.
