The Commander of Ethiopian Troops in Somalia Seen In The Hotel Where The Somlis are meeting

Hiiraan Online
Saturday, June 07, 2008

Mogadishu, Somalia (HOL) - Reports we have received from the Djibouti tell us that General Gabre who commands Ethiopian troops in Somalia has been spotted at the hotel where the representatives from Somalia's opposing sides are staying. It is reported that the General held talks with representatives of the TFG.

It is not clear yet why the General is in Djibouti although reports say that the General wants to be aware of the contents of the agreement expected to be signed soon by the TFG and the Oppostion.

The arrival of the General at the hotel could complicate the the UN organized peace talks since the Opposition walked out of the peace talks recently after they became aware of the presence of the Ethiopian Ambassador in Djibouti at the meeting.

Reports also say that the president of Djibouti Mr. Ismaaciil Cumar Geelle has invited the two sides to a lunch where he will advise the feuding sides to reach an agreement to end the 17 year old civil war in Somalia.

Megatron, here is the full translation of the article I posted yesterday. And can someone tell me who deleted that topic? Is politics banned again from General Discussions? If so, be just and delete all or delete none. No selective deleting please.

Thanks, sxb. It's obvious the TFG is not interested in the actual peace progress, as the only reason they could have for his presence, is to keep him apprised of ALL Opposition developments. A severe undermining of, and obstacle to, the peace progress. Somalia is now in need of some serious intervention in regards to the Ethiopia situation.

No, NOTHING of substance is allowed to be discussed here anymore. Somalinet is running it's own scaled down version of the TFG.
