Last week an ideological difference between members of the Islamic Courts allied to Sh.Sharif and Sh. Dahir Aweys turned into a deadly fire-fight causing instability and tension in Jowhar, the capital of the Middle Shebelle Region in Somalia. The deadly feud between members of the Islamic Courts many who hold conflicting political/ideological differences has led many to question if the departure of the traditional clan-based warlords in Somalia has made way to the rise of another unlikely replacement: the rise of the Wadaado-Warlords. Somalia already has dozens, if not more, self-appointed warriors of Islam vying for dominance and heaven alone knows what the consequences of their differences would lead to Somalia.

Why would any Somali attack the men that are fighting for he's or her country and dignity against Ethiopian occupation.

If they can't say nothing positive for the resistance than would it not be better to say nothing?

Some-times, the end doesn't have to justify the means. It is splendid that the Al-Shabab is waging a war against the Ethiopian mercenaries and their paid-agents, but at what cost? The main problem with narrow-minded lunatics like yourself is that you are quite incapable of appreciating the great danger the Al-Shabab poses to the Somali Republic in the long run. Simply taking a gun and firing at the Ethiopian mercenaries in Somalia, is no license to cause harm and jeopardize the long-term survival of the Somali State. For every Ethiopian these Heaven-bound guys kill, dozens of Somalis lose their lives and while freedom don't come free, is the death of one Ethiopian for the death of dozens of Somali women and children a wise investment?

Pointing to the flawed policies and misguided believes of these brain-washed narrow-minded zealots doesn't mean that one is automatically writing a blank-cheque to the Ethiopian despot. Actually, the truth couldn't be further. I want a more disciplined and organized militias fighting against the Ethiopian mercenaries and their Somali agents with a clear defined goals and concrete Post-War plans that don't turn Somalia into fiefdom for competing Wadaado-Warlords. Somalia already has a painful experience with the consequences of waging a war to dispose a despot simply to be replaced by chaos and anarchy. We don't want to repeat the same ol' mistakes over and over again. It becomes a major turn-off.

To be honest, TL, at this moment in time we really have little choice, the situation doesn't give us the luxuary to think over the ideology and interest of these 'waadado'.

We shoudln't pay attention if they are simplistic, dogmatic preachers, who base Islam on the al-Azhar pamphlets, let them ride the Islamist jargon. They are doing Somalia a service. Let them be. A future is better then no future.
