Why do people get emotional about business ?

Like it or not, Somalis like all other human beings gravitate towards the cheaper alternative.

Berbera is more expensive to use than Bosaso. Its not cost competitive. Not political or emotional just fact.

it is only more expensive for the other clans to use berbera.

the local`s clan get charged a cheaper tarriff/duty than the others.

cisse musa manage and run the the port, making sure their brothers in hargeisa are able to import their goods, below what other issaq have to pay.they are thus able to offer more competitive prices in the market place, and able to capture ever increasing market share.

a portion of the the profits are re invested back into bribes and kick backs, securing political favours and the continuence of this corrupt relationship.

all the major somali businessmen engage in bribery and corruption, with the profits being shared between, gunmen, petty officials, and businessmen.in the end it is ordinary somali`s who bare the load,in the form of higer prices, poor quality goods, counterfit medicine, food unfit for human consumption etc.
