Fact: The Ethiopian troops are the ones who moved from Hiiraan region and are going to their bases in Suufka, southern Ethiopia.

Fact: The rainy season is hitting Jubooyinka including Gedo so no ability to fight.

Fact: Overwhelming majority of Mareexaans support the situation in Kismaayo as it is.

the ethiopians took over a whole swath of land in gedo in 1990's when the people of gedo called for ethiopian help against al shabab. tahir aweis with marehan al shababs. ethiopians are welcome in gedo but not in kismayo. most marehan shababs are in kismayo. since 1990 heer gedo were divided like americans are divided into republicans and democrats. they either support their tribal leaders or al shabab. the war will be in kismayo. hiiraale neva gives up. if ethiopians fail him, he will call for israeli help and will find enough heer gedo men to support him.

Gedo Administration Vows to Drive Out Islamists

Toting rocket launchers and Kalashnikovs, the tribal militiamen in Gedo region say they will fight to the death against Islamist forces on their soil to drive out.

The Islamists have seized Gedo region after they expelled fighters in the region bordering Kenya in a bid to show their power.


"We will fight against Islamists until they with throw from our region," said Mohamed Abdi Khalil, the deputy commissioner of the region, called up to help theiur militiamen to expel the Islamist militia.

He warned Islamists in Gedo to stay away from their territory.

"They should abstain from interfering in our area, otherwise we will take action against them," Khalil said.

The militia's remarks come following Fighters loyal to the UIC seized Bardheer town of Gedo Region, southwestern Somalia, without encountering any resistance on 14th of July 2008.

The arrival of the Islamist fighters comes at a time when a new police force were being sworn-in; some of them were taking oath the same afternoon while Some of the policemen received their uniforms.

Some fighters immediately positioned themselves at the town's intersection bridge and dismissed the police officers stationed at the bridge.

the residents have raised different opinions on the arrival of Alshabab fighters., Some of them are saying that it was not right for Al-Shabab fighters to enter Bardhere town currently, pointing out that Gedo Region is one of the peaceful regions in Somalia, hence no reason for Al-Shabab to enter it while others said that is was proper the arrival of Alshabab because of the tightening the security of the town.

Fighting between Islamist insurgents and Ethiopian and Somali troops is escalating in some parts of south and central Somalia in defiance of a cease-fire agreement signed by the Somali government and some members of the opposition last month.
