MaDaRkIcIs LiBaAx wrote:Madarkicis son of Hiraab, who was the father of the sub clans known as the Habar Gidir clan today, Sa'ad, Suleman, Saruur, and Mohamed (nick named Eyr) had a wife called "Gidir" who is the mother of 2 of his ofsprings (Sa'ad the elder and Suleman the younger) and the step mom of Ceyr (eldest of Madarkicis' 4 sons) and Saruur who's mother had died from another marriage. Madarkicis brought his 2 orphaned sons from his other wife to the Gidir house hold to be cared for and raised by her as she would with her own. She is even said to have breast fed them like her own.

Madarkicis loved Gidir and blessed her so that his family and sons might inherit her name. And that is how now his lineage is more widely know as Habar Gidir. "Habar" meaning in Somali as an elder lady or elderly women of the house hold. Also Madarkicis' younger brother Maxamud son of Hiraab (nick named Duduble) who lived and was closely associated with the Madarkicis family house hold is sometimes grouped with his nephews clan name of Habar Gidir, even though he is their uncle in reality.

Hopefully now you know :)

Wow, that was really informative and a beautiful story. Thank you.
