To stop them, it requires a majority of secular Somalis in the West to go back to Somalia to fight them. That involves losing one's life. I don't think even a handful of secular Somalis in the West are willing to do that. The secular warlords have been defeated before, and now they are in the process of losing again eventhough they are being helped by America, Europe, Ethiopia, etc. Al-Shabaab will overtake Somalia and establish an Islamic State. It's your fault the reason why Al-Shabaab is succeeding, 'cause you don't want to fight them and risk losing your life.
