ICU Finally admit their mistakes in brigning the Ethiopians.

Postby Captain24 » Fri Jan 16, 2009 11:52 pm

UIC leaders also admitted that mistakes were made during the rule of the UIC that preceded the Ethiopian invasion and that all human beings err. They added that the important thing is to realize the errors, repent, and avoid making similar errors in the future.

They also admitted that they didn't share the power with Majerten

Mr. Haad added that Somalia’s problems resulted from lack of power sharing and warned against repeating the same experience in the future. He asked Somalis to cooperate and respect one another. He said that Ethiopian troops were able to invade Somalia because Somalis allowed them to do so. He also warned against further bloodshed and asked Somalis to resolve their differences through peaceful means.

Where did he mention Majerteen?
This is a good sign, equality and consensus is what builds a strong and united state.

James read between the lines. They said they didn't share the power with others, and the only ones that didn't get anything in the bogus ICU deal is us. Ogaden got a lot of and Marehan got a lot of positions as well

The Marehan didn't really come on board the UIC bandwagon until after Ethiopia invaded, and it cost them a lot of wasted effort and time in the Juba Valley from September to December that allowed the TFG and Ethiopia to fortify Baidoa, deploy an army there, and then conquer Somalia.

Had they managed to get the Marehan on board from the get go, they could have taken Baidoa in October and it would have been much more difficult for Ethiopia to defeat the UIC.

Also contrary to popular belief, most Habar Gidir were snubbed by the UIC and it was only really the Ayr who supported them, and then only until they realized the UIC wasn't a euphamism for Ayr supremacism, at which point they turned on them at the first opportunity.

The UIC depended on "true believers" of the cause, and while they are effective and determined, there just weren't enough of them.

Majirto Bride

It looks like every other Majirten who used to persistently cheerlead for the habashi has either run away from this place or changed their shaati to dirac and went underground.

The only xayawaan who doesn’t know when to raise a white flag and surrender and offer the good muqawamah such as myself your booty is you.

Waraa even Somali boqorad is singing “somaliyeey toostoo” and acting like the biggest wadani and here you are still bragging even when there is nothing more left for you to brag about.

Hiiraale would have probably sided with the UIC, or at least stayed neutral, if they hadn't stabbed him in the back. That's an example of not sharing power and making mistakes.
Today Hiraale is probably the most fanatically anti-UIC guy in Somalia.

Wrong, Hiiraale's support or thereof wouldn't have undermined or strengthened the ICU. He didn't put a lot of resistance, and at the end begged the TFG to get a position, and when he got his wish granted , he hid behind the Ethiopian troops taking orders from the TFG

Didn't put up a lot of resistance? The war dragged on for 3 months. They never did manage to capture Bardhere for instance.

James, you are very naive. They captured Kismayo without firing a single shot , what makes you think they would struggle to capture Baardheere. The fact is the ICU didn't want to go to that desert area , so they focused on Baydhabo and Putland more. Gedo was there for the taking anytime they want
