Who is Cumar Iimaan?

In looking at the pictures of these fighters, I can picture how easily they can be integrated into the society by joining the national Somali military or police force. But crazy Wadaads like this Iimaan want to use them to destroy what is left of our once beautiful capital city. AirCanada, give me some info about this Dr. Iimaan guy?

If you are asking me for his qabiil, then i don't know. Diyeeshaha was saying he is baadicade but i can't confirm if that is true or not.

What i do know though is that Cumar Iiman is not a new comer. He was there since day one of maxaakiimta days.

When the courts were in charge they had 2 panel. Golaha Shuurada and Golaha fulinta. Golaha shuurada were led by Sheikh Xassan Dahir Aweys whereas Sheikh Sharif was the head of golaha fulinta and his deputy being Janaqoow. Cumar Iiman was the deputy chair of golaha shuurada that was headed by sheikh Xassan. He is not a shady person who came into the view of the public just recently. He was always visible especially during rallies and ceremonial gatherings.

He was always very close to Sheikh Dahir Aweis.

He use to be an important political figure of the ICU back in 2006, he associates with ARS-Asmara more than ARS-Jabuti. Then he turned on Sheikh Shariff when he left for Jabuti to participate in the reconciliation peace process.

The UIC always had this problem where one group (led by Sharif) wanted to make a deal with the TFG and form a unity government, and the other group (led by Aweys) wanted to "cleanse Somalia" and create a pure Islamic theocracy like the Taliban did in Afghanistan. This was ALWAYS THERE. Even going back to the first days of the UIC in 2004 this was there. Sharif and his consensus-driven approach was actually the original UIC, the hardline guys took over only in late 2006, when Sharif was sidelined by Aweys.
