Pres. Ahmed On a Roll

Postby Megatron » Thu Apr 23, 2009 11:41 am

It's a start. :som:

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon (R) and Somalia's President Sheikh Sharif Ahmed (L) address a news conference at the end of the International Somali donors conference in Brussels April 23, 2009. International donors have pledged more than $250 million to help Somalia boost security and restore order, a senior European Union official said on the sidelines of a donors conference on Thursday.

Well, looks like Mr Ould Abdalla wasn't joking when he said the world is willing to help Somalia if Somalis get their act together.

 Sh. Shariif

I think you guys are celebrating little too early, this is just a pledge not cash in sight yet..

And we know from history pledges never materialise, remem the G8 meeting in Scotland few years, billions pledged for Africa but none delivered...

Sharit is working hard on it though

HutuKing,

I am approaching Sheik Sharif as a Mamuul not qabiil. The 1 million Galmudugians demand their share.

I agree it IS a little early for celebration, but the mere fact he's at the UN is signifigant. It signals to me that the West is acknowledging they made a big mistake in backing the wrong horse (TFG). Also, I sincerely believe that the country's militias are tired and exhausted from fighting. The xabaash campaign took a lot out of them, and they are now ready to move forward. Insha'Allah.

I hope he sticks to his plan, like most african leaders once that money starts flowing in, their plans go out the window.
