I laugh at these dumb idiots who cry about israel, yet can't even stop killing eachother. But somehow it is wrong for Somaliland, a country in need of friends, to establish ties to a country that kills less muslims than they do. Based on the geographical location of Somaliland, I think the US will consider the alternatives. It already has. US and Israeli military base will completely disable the terrorist movement in that region. However, like you stated, one has to weigh the pros and the cons of each situation accordingly. The last thing Somaliland wants to do is to create local hate for its government. Religion will be very sensitive issue not to temper with when it comes to Somalis.

Beggars can’t be choosers. Somaliland government has to do whatever it takes to secure full recognition for its citizens. If Israel can provide that, why not?

I agree. I would evaluate though the implications if an Al Shabaab type movement decided to activate in the region, in order to defend what may seem as complicitness in Palestinian persecution.
