USC stands for United Somali Congress it was created in 1989 in southern Somalia , it was an armed rebel group and was build on the idea of Hawiye domination of Somalia. USCs goal was to destroy Siad Barres Govement. It finally walked into Mogadishu 16 janury 1991. The groups leaders was the somali politicans Ali Mahdi and Mohamed Aided. Instead of creating a new govement, it began to kill somalis from the darod clan, rape and plunder! USC killed 100000 darod men, women, and children.they drove 500000 darod away from southern Somalia. Thousands of Darod houses was stolen. The Darods had in only 20 years build Mogadishu to the most beautiful city in Africa. And see how it is today. Under the darod presence ( 1969-1991) hawiye children attended modern schools, hawiye went to modern hospitals, hawiye had good roads, hawiye had peace, hawiye had jobs , hawiye had hopes and dreams. Hawiye had police and justice. But USC destroyed it all , the day the darod left Mogadishu was doomed to misery and war. An era of devolpment ended.
USC destroyed my familys life. Only because we were Darod. My family lived in Mogadishu for 30 years, we invested all our money in Mogadishu. We had to flee from our beloved Mogadishu because we were Darod. Mogadishu had became our home. We left our beautiful home in Hodan district a week before Siad Barre left Mogadishu. My family used to own 8 lovely houses in Mogadishu, now we have lost them all. 2 women in our family was raped by USC soldiers, and 4 of my uncles was killed by USC because they were Darod. We must talk about the war crimes committed against Darod of USC before we can get a true peace in Somalia. I am telling this story so all somalis know what inhuman crimes USC comitted. I am aganist Qabil and hate it, and I love all somalis and Somaliweyn, and pray for peace in our beloved homeland. But Mogadishu people must know that the most get rid of the murders among them, before the can get forgivniss from the somali people and Allah.
