Mogadishu — The traditional elders of Hawiye clans have called for the African Union troops AMISOM to halt shelling falling into the civilian populated areas out of the Somali capital Mogadishu, chairperson said on Monday
Mohamed Hassan Had, the chairperson of Hawiye clans said that there were more shell fires landed into many different areas in the capital and affected the people in those areas suggesting AMISOM to stop shelling far a way zones.
"We have told AMISOM troops to cease the shelling, because it might cause only civilian casualties. We had informed many times earlier and we are now repeating AMISOM to halt it," said Mohamed Hassan Had.
The chairperson had also expressed concern over the continuing fighting in north of the Somali capital Mogadishu calling for the transitional government and its opposition to seize the deadly clashes and shelling in north of Mogadishu very soon.
