Fighting between forces of the Somali Transitional Federal Government backed by the African union peacekeeping forces and Islamist militias of Al-shabab has taken place early this morning in the capital Mogadishu, reports said.
The confrontation occurred in the south Mogadishu and both warring groups exchanged fires and shells killing one and injuring 3 others.
Reports indicate that Al-shabab forces attacked government and AMISOM military bases in Hodan district south Mogadishu.
The shells were falling in between two main roads named Jidka-wadnaha and Jikda-soddanka(Heart-Road and 30-Raod) in the capital Mogadishu, resident said.
There are no sources indicating the casualties reached to the warring groups in Mogadishu and this war comes a day after the arrival of Ambassador Augustin Mhiga in the capital Mogadishu who had talks with Somali and prime minister yesterday.
