Jan 2011– on of the detainee of Al shabaab in Elbur district in Galgudud region of central Somalia, was on Tuesday reported to have gone on hunger strike.
Reports from Elbur also suggest that the man, whose name briefed in Buluu, went on strike for about 48 hours ago. It is still unclear the reasons behind that but there has been unjust and mistreatment suffer by the population there.
Mr. Buluu is said to commit that action in protest of Al shabaab’s arbitrary detention.
Unconfirmed number of prisoners is reported to be in detentions in central Somalia’s region of Galgudud, where Al shabaab, which US alleges to be Al Qaeda’s proxy in the horn of Africa nation, tightly controls.
No statements about the hunger strike were immediately available from Al shabaab so far.
