TFG supporters are the worst Somalis. When their clansman is in an important position they will even lie about the religion to defend the TFG but as soon as their clansman gets removed and tossed in the trash as it is the norm there they will do a 160 before you can blink.
Somalia Boqor comes to mind, he was the biggest supporter of TFG when Abdullahy Yusuf was in Power, and now he is the biggest opponent of TFG.

This offensive is useless..
alshabaab will regroup and rearm becuase they have most of southern somalia to gather resources from.
If you do not have heavy weapons you should not have a standing battle, this is one of the first rules of guerilla warfare 101.

by mao tse sung..

you only have standing linear battles in the 3rd and final stage of the guerilla campaign, when you have developed your own standing army to complent your guerilla fighters..

All successfull guerilla wars have followed chairman moa's observations, from the Vietcong to the EPLF.

all this means is that alshabaab have failed in this semester of the great war university and they will have to repeat the semester.
The stupid commander that came up with the current strategy will probably be dead or replaced, and smarter more battle hardened and younger commanders will take his place..

if the TFG wants to win, they need to capture as much territory as possible..
alshabaab will regroup and make a comback within weeks...

the more you keep on the offensive the longer it takes them to recover.

The TFG and the Ugandans do not have the resources for this..

so this means that semester 2 will mean the alshabaab will get a pass after they finish the resit exam and i expect
more trouble for amisom and the TFG.

They will both just kill more civilians, and go back to their respective positions after murdering 50 to 100 innocent civilians. it have been like that in the last 5 years.

alshabaab behaviour these days proves that they are not getting any support from the outside

i.e foriegn jihadis..

they are not using the tactics that are standard in chechniya, kashmir or with the taliban..

this is a homegrown movement and they are still learning..

imagine if they get some input from those sources...

That goal will be realized very shortly because Al Shabab has lost major positions that will cut them off from the refugee camps and routes into Southern Somalia. They are now starved of recruits and their fighters in Mogadishu are under constant bombardment and will disintegrate shortly.
