Pardon my ignorance, but I thought the mosque killings was between pro-Shabab and pro-Sufi groups; does it also have a clan dimension to it?
When is there NOT a clan dimension to it?

Did you think Somalis were actually killing each other over religion? ---even if we had Somali Shias and Sunnis or Somali Hindus and Muslims they'd still fight over qabiil and nothing else.
Of course, the underlying cause of every conflict is rooted in clan, but too often the professed claim is justified on religious and political grounds. That's why I wanted to know whether the actors involved were affiliated with any of the religious forces in the country or as Xamud stated were normal folks propelled by Aano qabil.

Xamud,

Thanks for the clarification!

Sheikh Shariif should deploy Amisom in there and arrest Faroole and his mafia administration and bring the whole region under TFG.
over 20 people have been killed in Galkacyo and Bosaso in the last week alone and the idiots are denying that there is a problem and blaming others, instead of solving the problems.

Most of the Somali websites are clearly saying the war in Northern Gaalkacyo is between "Some Leelkase subclans & Some Omar Mahamoud subclans",

i.e.

1) Galmudug website quotes go a little bit too far, lol.:
http://www.galmudugnews.com/2011/04/27/ ... gaalkacyo/

2) Shacabkamedia.com blames alshabaab for starting war between Leelkase & Cumar Mahamoud in Gaalkacyo:
http://www.shacabkamedia.com/warka/inde ... a&Itemid=3

btw, The Sheikh who was killed was not digil & mirifle, although he was from Bay & Bakool, he was Leelkase, from the "Jaamac Hassan subclan" who settle in Bay & Bakool, and that is what started the war, and led to the reer mahad business man being killed.
the sheikh was killed before the businessman, and you can see what led to what!

Either way, nobody benefits from WAR, as you can clearly see it from Muqadishu and most of South Somalia.

I just called some folks in Gaalkacyo, who said the war stopped, and the two sides each went back to their location. So insha'allah thats the end of it, and may Allah bring peace and love between them.

wow how ignorant of these ppl, first killing sheikhs, than killing a business man for him, instead of capturing a killing the killers, they kill good productive ppl that have nothing to do with the whole thing. the ignorance of Somalis.
