Voltage has a habit of downplaying everything going on Somalia if its unrelated to his clan; whether you are talking about business being done somewhere or the value of properties elsewhere. If his entire clan lived within the borders of Ethiopia or Djibouti he would be sitting here telling us that the size of Somalia's coastline is over exaggerated and that Somalia received independence in 1980 not 1960 and that its population is 500,000 not 10 million. If I came from a place like Gedo or Cabudwaaq I would also hate everything around me and beyond.

I didn't talk about a clan, a region, a town, etc. I came into a topic where two people were throwing around highly inflated figures and those individuals have responded aggressively to a simple observation. Voltage is outraged and shocked at what is being said on this thread because his little mind can't fantom the idea of a land property in Somalia costing that much. Obviously, had I stated a mud house in Gedo costs a million USD he would jump up and proclaim it as the gospel truth; this narrow and confused mentality shows the insincere and phony nature of this kid. You wouldn't find an empty undeveloped farm in Sh/hose or Sh/Dhexe for 25 grand, forget about "the best" farms. A 175 acres farm in Balcad was offered for 2 million USD in '95. I know this because it was our farm.

I knew Marehan were not known as business-savvy but these guys have zero understanding of the subject. Firstly, the food grown in Somalia by agribusiness is not staple food, only cash crops and exotic foods are grown; mangoes, limes, sesame and cotton are the norm. Exports are split down the middle; half goes to foreign clients and the other half is trucked to restaurants and vendors in big cities like Xamar, Gaalkacyo, Bosaso or Hargeisa. Thirdly, if you guys had any xalaal property in Somalia you would be getting calls for offers but your posts clearly show you don't.

We own a huge farm in Janaale and one in Baraweyare on the outskirt of Barawe, the one in Barawe is HUGE! I don`t know the exact size but if we ever decide to sell it we will cash in hard the one in Janaale is located in a small village called Buufow, and that area is called "Dhul Jano" I believe that one is around 100-120 acres, some Murursade mooryaans controlled it for 20 years, but we just got it back last year, and now we are renting it out to some Leelkase businessmen.

I must agree with Twisted-Logic and Paidmonk, dhul beeradka ciyaar maha, weliba if its located in Shabelloyinka or Jubboyinka(Jamame&Jilib area) I know that on a personal level because we have people calling offering mad money to buy or rent land of us all the time. But it`s prime and we are not planning to sell it anytime soon.
