There is a long stretch of mountains called "Golis range mountains" that start in somewhere between Saxiil & Sanaag and end up in Western Bari. Galgala though is the base and stronghold of Atam's sub clan.

Galgala is a shared deegan not exclusively settled by one subclan!!!
BTW most of soldiers (AUN) who died in the ambush were from the same subclan as Atam.

Executive i am indifferent about it. Although if Sheikh Atam is working for the interests of Somaliland also defending his land against Puntland there is no reason not to support him. Somaliland should help the people of Western Bari in their time of need if neccessary.

Damu you missed the point "working for the interests of Somaliland". Although i think Somaliland & Puntland can come into some sort of agreement, Puntland stops supporting SSC completely and Somaliland will stop aiding some groups such as Atam(if it's even true).

hargaysaay don't fall for that al shabab nonsense. Sh.Atam himself said he has no links with Al shabab his beef with Puntland started in 2005 - 2006 in the Cadde Muse era. Dagaalkii Buraha Majiyahan being one of them when some companies tried to dig for minerals in those areas without his permission.
