The Isaaq did not break up the Somali nation by claiming independence. It broke up because of 20+ years of instability and war. Piracy and terrorism has made the situation even worse.

Why should Somaliland be held hostage? Don't be selfish. This is a region that wants the best for itself. How selfish it is for those who go after Somaliland for claiming independence when you have problems in your own backyard. It's easy to unite by creating a fictional common enemy. According to this thread Isaaq and Majeerteen are the enemy of Southern Somalia and as southern Somalis we should unite to achieve our common interest.
