U.S. going after Farmaajo for Corruption/Theft

Straight from the government-based website of the US House of Representatives:

http://www.internationalrelations.house ... 070711.pdf

United States House of Representatives
Committee on Foreign Affairs
Subcommittee on Africa, Global Health, and Human Rights
Subcommittee on Terrorism, Nonproliferation, and Trade
As to recently ousted Prime Minister Farmajo, the spin put out by the public relations firms he
hired with international donor assistance notwithstanding, he was no reformer. When political
commentators said he came with “no political baggage,” it was a polite way of saying that he
had no experience of Somali politics on the ground—he had not been in the country for a
quarter of a century at the time of his appointment—and no base from which to lead. That is
not to say that he did not learn quickly from his colleagues in the TFG. He held the post less
than a year, but the auditors could not account for $648,000 from the salary account of the
Office of the Prime Minister. He also awarded his old boss, a former county executive from
upstate New York with no evident foreign policy credentials, to lobby the U.S. State
Department on his behalf. Given that Farmajo is a U.S. citizen and at least some of the
“missing” or otherwise misspent funds undoubtedly derive from assistance funded by American
taxpayers, perhaps the Department of Justice could be encouraged by the Subcommittees to
take a closer look into the matter and determine whether any laws have been broken and, if so,
what civil remedies might be sought or criminal prosecutions possibly brought
.

This was the prepared statement of Peter Pham, a fat Cambodian neocon who was part of John McCain's presidential campaign. He has been self-styling himself as an analyst on Somalia recently and hates the TFG, supports Somaliland independence, and in every writing is trying to get the US to recognize Somaliland which he tries to help by exaggerating the already failed nature of the TFG. If you read the article he wrote the day Farmaajo was announced, he was against the appointment of a young American without a corrupt history who could make the TFG legitimate, and during the protests in support of Farmaajo he was saying there was no support for Farmaajo inside of Somalia. He is just a fat neocon who thinks he can get away with lying about Somalia and he thinks that because only him and Ken Menkhaus even opine on Somalia among D.C circles. What auditors did he see and who showed him what audits? He is as credible with or has contact with the Obama administration and its Justice Department as George Bush himself. He is the opposite of what represents Obama's Justice Department or Foreign Policy.

Yet Paidmonk said "THE" U.S is going after Farmaajo or attributed it to the U.S House of Representatives. Either Paidmonk is as knowledgeable about government function as a 6th grader or he is really desperate in his attempt to paint Farmaajo with a bad brush.

Only time will tell. Farmaajo has been avoiding a return to the US for quite some time. He traveled all the way to London for a party, then to Uganda for some nonsense ceremony - a modest civil servant can't possibly have that much cash to spend on traveling. I bet 100% that he'll "retire" in Kenya.

Fat Pham's conservative $648k figure is tiny compared to the $5, $10+ million that's passed through Farmaajo's bottomless pockets.

I don't want him to be Somalia's president, I don't even think he wants it.

The thread title is apparently misleading, and peter Pham's strange political affairs with the secessionists is well known.but his baseless assertions makes him as credible as that numnut Abdiraizaq Bihi.nothing ever comes out of those hearings anywayz,i dont know why they even still hold em.

Ximaar a.k.a Farmaajo's closeted boyfriend, Faroole doesn't need to be Somalia's president, he has no interest in it. He has Puntland.

Farmaajo has more International Respect than Fat-Boy Omar Abdirashid, Cabdullahi Yusuf, Cade Muse, Jamaac Ali Jamaac and Faroole combined. Shit, that's all the MJ politicians.
