Trolls

Most of the big settlements in the Ogaden have been constructed next to main rivers such as Qalaafe &Godey or Fiq region on the Shabelle.Others like Qabridahar, Dhagaxbur,Jigjiga...etc are built along the perennial rivers in the Faafan&Jarar valleys where farming communities are found.Obviously the agricultural sector is not very large especially in a conflict zone where the government is engaged in the destruction of settlements in order to suppress dissent its not very appealing to become a heavily settled community, your life span is much longer been a nomad where you rule the terrain and have accumulated advanced survival tactics over the generations.Once the conflict is solved the agricultural centers are ready to begin producing massively, most of the main settlements are already within the vicinity as mentioned, its true the river systems in the Ogaden can feed the entire region if developed properly.

Ever since I grew up, I've heard the stories of how Ogaden have evacuated his Northern Frontier. Gaashaamo, Awaare, Gobolka Dhagaxbuur, areas near Daanood all are in the hands of IIDOORKA. While Ogadens are focusing on the Rivers of Juba and Shabelle, their Northern Frontier has been lost to their Arch Enemy.

The Bah-Geri and Mikahil who settle in Qalafo iyo Wardheer don't really mix with the Iidoor, but the Reer Isaaq who settle in Dhagaxbuur have fought and tried to defend their lands against the ENTIRE Isxaaq clans. While their brothers, the Reer Cabdille of Qabri Dhahar have mainly focused on fighting against the Xabaashi. :?

The Reer Cabdalle of the NFD iyo Jubooyinka don't even know what "IIDOOR" is. I don't blame them, and I have tremendous amount of RESPECT for them for defending their areas against the 1991 USC invasion, also AUN to Adan Gabyo.

Perhaps, Gashamo the town wasn't established by Ogaden, but that doesn't change the fact that, Ogaden once lived the entire Ogadenia ama Somali Galbeed, anything North-West of Dhagaxbur was once Ogaden and today, the Garxajis are sharing many areas with Reer Isaaq-Ogaden.
