FAH you are looking at it as an outsider, and you do not understand how people think..

Why would we abandon this in the future if things are going so well rigth now?
we are very happy were we are and the future looks bright..

do you seriously think our mind will change?
to get what you want, you will have to change strategy and you have even admitted it as such

in fact, when the islamic courts came to power you spoke and still speak highly of the ramifications that could have brought

somalia as we know is a place where if things change, they change quickly after a long period of time where its 'more of the same'

so while you say this now, it could change radically

I was hypothisizing and dreaming..
but this is reality.....

We are finally seeing progress in somaliland, while you watch the news in somalia and follow the TFg drama, we are slowly but surely moving ahead.
I see myself moving there with 3 years..

recognition is not the 1 and only goal, since we are seeing progress in government and economy, we can focus on these things and worry about recognition later.
which will come sooner or later..

I was worried about maintaining our millitary superiority but, things are moving ahead there as well, officer training is advancing and general training is starting to improve and we will see results in the next few years.

basically somalilanders are optimistic, more optimistic than before.....

I can understand your pessimism , but you do not understand somaliland.
the future the bright

If Somaliland and Puntland unite there will be issues over the new capital city.

Hargeisa is too far west and Garowe is too far east.

Perhaps Erigabo could function as the new capital, it is centrally located and has a pleasant climate. But it is too underdeveloped and has no paved motorway leading to it.

Or create a completely new capital, granted it would be expensive, but it will pay off in long run because it is cheaper to add new technologies to city rather than adding old technologies then destroying and replacing it.

It is impractical and too costly.

Erigabo sounds like the best option for a new capital because it's in the middle between Somaliland and Puntland, plus it has the coldest climate of all of Somalia (highland mediterranean climate).

I am all for a unification of Somaliland and Puntland, but unfortunatly there are tribal tensions which make this nearly impossible.

I support an independent Somaliland and Puntland  A Somalia with Galkayo as its most northern border town and Ras Kiamboni as its most southern, would be a prosperous and peaceful place.

No partitioning of Somalia. No autonomous self rule. Death to the separatist snakes.
