DJIBOUTI

"In a recent interview, the man who calls himself Boqor (King) Buurmadow, claimed that he is taking part in a global conference organized by a UK-based organization named the African Development Forum to be held somewhere in China. Among other things, he was trying to prove that he was a world-renowned dignitary whereas the elected President of Somaliland, H.E. Ahmed Mohamed Mohamud ’Silanyo’ was not even able to secure an entry visa for China. On one occasion, he contended that the president was detained at the airport and was only released through the good offices of the Ethiopian Embassy. Reason: he was using the Somaliland passport – a passport that Buurmadow derisively downgraded to the same level as a forged traveling document. The Somaliland passport!

On another, without taking proper note of what he said before, he claimed that the President never even reached China but was, instead, somewhere in a poor quarter of a Malaysian town. Again Buurmadow relied on the Photoshopped gimmicks of a sworn enemy of Somaliland and Somalilanders, the ever-mooryaan, self-proclaimed ‘journalist’ Dahir Alasow of the ex-Dhallinta Kacaanka, waagacusub.com, waagacusub.net, waagacusub.org, somalilanders.com, somalilandpress.net, sunatimes.com – and a myriad of other shady website names whose motto is ‘Am not a Somalilander but still against Somaliland!’ . So be it.

Together with the despicable cartoon of Amin Amir (another emerging Somaliland detractor), the Alasaw-Yool-cum-qaran-cum-Buurmadow – in this order – clique has a long, arduous journey ahead if they for one moment delude themselves that they can whittle down the diplomatic, political, economic and social achievements of the people and government of Somaliland. The resilience and determination of Somalilanders would never cease to come into focus on trying times – more so now than ever. They did not last the past twenty years or so on alms handed down to it by envying foes and neither on the patron of grudging cynics.

Every true Somalilander should stand firmly behind the government. Whatever differences we have should be set aside for discussion among us. Learn from the Americans, the Brits, the French – the standard bearers of that they dubbed ‘freedom of expression’ and what they do to it when it comes to looking after their interests a.k.a. oil. Watch their media for detailed accounts of the millions of shells landing on hapless civilians in Iraq, in Libya, and millions more dying on instigated terrorist acts designed to appear Muslims killing Muslims. Can you find any kind of freedom of expression or access to objective information in there? Let Somaliland media outlets and websites that host or publish such blather and treachery as that spouted by Buurmadow and Alasaw of the south on every turn to fight against Somaliland gains learn from them. Or let them go on along this vein and bear the consequences.

Coming back to Buurmadow’s Africa Development Forum, see below for more details of the vision and composition of this institution and its more recent activities. What does that make Buurmadow – a parish priest? A diocese archbishop? An apostate? A re-born sheep of the Christian flock? An illiterate, over-blown African ‘chief’ mesmerized by his reflection on a piece of glass? You tell me! " :

"
African Development Forum VISION

In an attempt to encourage Britain’s African and Caribbean Christian community to become more actively involved in the issue of poverty in Africa, African and Caribbean Church leaders joined together and formed the African Development Forum.

The African Development Forum (ADF) was founded in 2006 and its team implemented in 2007. ADF’s motto simply states ‘We believe in Africa’. The vision is to mobilise the African and Caribbean Christian community and wider Diaspora to confront and respond to poverty by challenging unjust structural systems which keep millions of Africans poor. ADF seeks to contribute to economic and social progress in Africa through education and advocacy activities.

Re-inforcing our vision to mobilise the African and Caribbean Christian community and wider Diaspora, we are extending our collaboration with Christian Aid and Dr Robert Beckford, and partnering with Tipping Point Film Fund to develop the ADF Progressive Forum – a ‘third space ‘ where those who believe in humanity and the betterment of society can engage around the issues via film and new media – becoming challenged to act outside of the traditional constructs and notions of church."
