They are corrupt and ineffective, but they aren't "warlords".Vice-versa. Warlords have taken intellectuals out of the government. Parliament speaker having PM-power,president travelling as foreign minister and same time acting as finance minister.

True, if the islamist didn't take the chance to fight the warlords things would have remained the same. At the time nobody believed a bunch of guys in qamis could actually dare to go against warlords. They are corrupt and ineffective, but they aren't "warlords".Vice-versa. All in all, this is the closest to heading towards post-transition Somalia's government will get. I am cautiously optimistic about the future. I agree 100% the phenomenon of warlords seems to have been eradicated from Mogadishu. Corruption and inefficiency are the next two things to be tackled, but taking the teeth out of warlords is perhaps the biggest step in political evolution in Somalia and for that we really have to thank the Islamists.

What if Sharif Ahmed gets re elected for another 4 years?August 2012
Shariif Ahmed, Shariif Hassan, or Abdiweli...one of them will be sacked before then
People doubt sharif Ahmed but the guy is a survivor. What if Sharif Ahmed gets re elected for another 4 years?August 2012

No body thought anyone could go up against the warlords period. And when someone not only did but in broad daylight chased them out in disgrace one by one, the cloth of invincibility was totally removed from them only to stand there naked as a baby. They have stood there like that since, unable to reassert any of their dominance even in the non-Islamist TFG which they used to fill to the brink in the past.True, if the islamist didn't take the chance to fight the warlords things would have remained the same.
