First, Leelkase are not from Somaliland or Northern Somalia. They are from central Somalia, Mudug to be specific. Their stronghold is Goldogob. Second, Sheikh Atom is not Leelkase, he is Warsangeli.

What is going on in Galkacyo has nothing to do with Qabil, at least it didn't start that way. The security of the city of Galkacyo has been deteriorating for a while now, and the Puntland authorities has been conduction investigation which lead to the arrest of Habargidir woman who use to pay assassin to assassinate political leaders, and a man who hail from Sool who did the same thing. The Leelkase Man was responsible for carring out calculated assisinations and deliberately causing chaos in the city of Galkacyo. When the Puntland authorities went to apprehend him, he fired at them killing on of the officers. Then, the Puntland authorities called for re-inforcement and so has he. He gathered a clan malitia that was willing to fight on his behalf. The Leelkase has turn this into a clan war, which it should never had.

If The Puntland authorities can't even arrest criminals and people who are responsible for the killings of innocent people, infront of mosques nonetheless, what is it good for? The Leelkase community, who are by the war a die hard puntlanders, shouldn't have proected a killer because the tribes of the murdered men and the officers that were killed, would retaliate and that was a bad move on their part. If this man was my father, forget about qabil, I would want him to rot in jail forever. It is no need to protect criminals solely based on qabil.

Dozens of innoncent civilian died because of one criminal. The backwarded, barbaric mentality of protecting criminals based on qabil should be abolished. The peace of the state, and the well being of the civilians should come first, before qabil and before criminals from your tribe. I have families who live in the Garsoor Galkacyo and they are telling me that sub-clans that lost people in the fight are arming themselves and things could get sticky real fast. Also, the wounded people from both sides are brought to Galkacyo Medical Center and the Puntland Police are stationed there. When the militia men get medical attention, they will be taken into custody by the police from what I hear.

My hope is things will come down, and the criminal would be caught and brought to justice. No more innocent people have to die from both sides for the action of one person. The people of Mudug whether it is Leelkase, Majeerteen, Awrtable are brothers and have lived together forever. No more blood have to spill.
