What's the point of having an independent Somaliland AND Puntland, it makes no sense. What's the difference really? The international community isn't going to take that nonsense seriously. A unified North Somali state (Sland+Pland) with Erigabo as its capital stands a better chance of obtaining international recognition.

We support the self determination of the people of Puntland if they want an independent Puntland or Whether they want to be with in a future federal State one thing i know for sure is the Hawiyes Will never allow a Daarood to rule Their Mogadisho ever again. do you remember when Abdilahi yusef was the president every time he arrived in mogadisho either Explosives were thrown at him or Car Bomb would go off. And When Nuur Cade arrived in Mogadishu he would get a red carpet treatment . i know Amongst the Daroods the Majeerteen are the the most ambitious but they will get a hard times in the future if they ever want to install them selves as the new leader of Somalia. Can you imagine if the oil is found what that would mean for the people of that region i don't think puntland wants to share their oil with the rest of Somalis
I agree, it all makes sense. It's also better for Reer Gedo, they won't have to compete with us anymore as the Darod frontrunner (they would lose anyway, because as a clan we have more money and political influence). Marehan will be number 2 in the government, next to whatever Hawiye clan is dominating the government, probably Abgaal. It would improve our relations, because colaadeena is caused by the tension of being the number 1 of Darod of Somalia. Ogaden are no competition to Marehan, Ogaden's weight is all over the place, while Marehan is better established in Somalia proper.

I see a win-win situation for everybody if Puntland becomes an independent country. Somalilanders will be happy, Southerners will be happy and Puntland was not planning to share their oil anyway.

Erigabo as capital? Erigabo is the most boring shithole in Northern Somalia. Somaliland and Puntland can never be one country. We would never accept Hargeisa or Burco as our capital and they would never accept Bossaso or Garowe as their capital and we would both laugh if somebody suggests Las Anod as capital.

I support all of you in your desire to leave Somalia. Wallahi If only the Jubbaland secessionist move to Kenya will pick up speed, I think I will simply die of happiness and request to be buried in Nairobi, our capital. I am heartened to note the views are now actively being supported by the political faction of the land. God speed Jubbaland State of the Republic of Kenya, Allahu Akbar bi idni laahi kariim
Separation, that’s our dream,” said Abdirashid Hassan Abdinur, a local official in Dolo, near the Ethiopian border. As for a name, he said they were still working on that. “All I can say is that we’ll pick it here, not at some foreign hotel.

It doesn't really matter for them its Ethnic differences, for Somalis its tribal and political differences and many of these countries are Muslims Albanians can be found in Albania and also in Macedonia and Croatia. You can't make excuse for one and dismiss the other Claim. puntland operates as a country already what does statehood actually Mean I agree with one thing Monk always says , he said Somalis were always like this before Colonialism Majeerteen had their Sultanates in bari and Mudug and the south was under Zanzibar, Zanzibar is the new Amisom, And Somaliland was ruled by the isaaq Sultans. this how we always were.

Erigabo as capital? Erigabo is the most boring shithole in Northern Somalia.
It is roughly the same size as Garoowe, it can always develop rather quickly, and it is the coldest city in all of Somalia (highland climate). 8-)

Well, because those two states are inherently tribal, if they set their extremely minor differences aside they can achieve much more.

I don't know why you are laughing, wallahi I see more and more Marehans voice this desire and if now the ones actively fighting in the land are expressing such views which were considered sacrilegious to Marehan until recently my desire to see Jubbaland State of the Republic of Kenya has move up from fantasy to hope.  :rose:

As for dhiso, maxaa la dhisaa a place every fart from southern Somalia blows in the wind. One time USC, one time Al Itihad, one time Al Shabab. Your biggest luck has always been being physically removed from the center of Somalia. We have become part and parcel of the domino effect events in the area. As we seen as mark our borders and close it, will we get rest and be free to concentrate on living instead of just surviving.

As for Kenya, she would open her legs like a virgin maiden writhing in ecstasy for her first penetration if the Jubba River regions of Somalia were to be beckoned to her above.

I think it would also bring Hawiye Closer to each other and give them the chance to build their ancestral land and they would come to some political Agreement Yeah its Obviously Merehaan who would be the second Major Political player in the south after the Mudulood. if Majeerteen are no longer there and to some extend the Rahanweyn.

Indeed its a win win situation for all

McKuus,

We have no problems with isaqs, the first lady of Puntland is habar awal. They are our people, just a different clan. But we want to be our own country.

Voltage,

It's pretty sad that you voluntarily want to be part of a Bantu country, Somalis are independent people with pride. Waxaad lasoo sirtagtay hadal maahan.
