PaidMonk,

Alot of the articles written on the subject of Security Contractors are exaggerated for sensationalism. I highly doubt there are real M4s floating around in Somalia

damn thats an ugly looking contraption, who pimped it out
im behind in my small arms, all my knowledge is outdated, dated from 10-15 years back when i was a real war nerd..

My main interest is in the aviation sector. I pay attention to other branches but airplanes fascinate me.

The Chinese are of course the first suspects, I know Iran also has M4 Carbine knock-off. But the Chinese copy is the most popular. It's not used by the Chinese Military, however; just local law enforcement agencies. The design is not too bad but from what I read it's performance is pretty pathetic.

Here's a group of Chinese police firing it. I am guessing it went pretty badly

Man, I used to sneak to the library just to read JANES back in High School. The city library was right across the high school, and they had the JANES Collections from way back & I used to enjoy reading them. Most of my weekends were spent in the library. They also carried the Air Force Monthly. Still to this day, the only time I go to the City Lubrary is to read JANES or the AFM. Sadly, the quality of JANES has been on a steady decline for a while, there online site reads like a tabloid. Such a sad situation. Hope they get good editors and restore it's old prestige.
