Murax, wallahi I am not joking bro. This is a sincere dream of mine. I don't even really like many of the underpinnings of Somali culture and society, I can't ever imagine such a retrograde, Somali majority identity can be good for our regions. We need access to the civilization that is Kenya.

At the end of the day; the security, stabillity and livelihood of the people matter the most, they are ensured a large piece of this if their region ever re-joined Kenya.

If you're dissatisfied with the status quo, why not wish for independence for Jubbaland? It can be a decent sized country with fertile land and access to a port.

Did you forget 2007? They are just as prone to tribal problems and would already be a civil war if the west (esp Britain) had not used a lot of effort to prevent it.

Jubbaland that is independent will be weak and will be run by a society that still mirrors that which destroyed Somalia not to mention will come under heaving interference from Ethiopia. I am a minority in America; that means nothing. All Somalis know is how to function in emotionally driven impracticalities. A Jubbaland that joins Kenya will see an increased Somali numbers, more seats, participation, will also garner massive investment, will have at its disposal the opportunity to partake in East Africa's most developed market based system, and will have the protection and sovereignty of the Kenyan state, which by all accounts seems to be the most democratic and somewhat accountable in the region particularly now with constitutional reform. Jubbaland has everything to gain by federating with Kenya and has everything to lose by being part of Somalia or seeking independence.

Anyways, that's the thing you're caught in between a rock and a hard place. You realise (as I do) that small statelets are quite useless in this day and age. You will just come under the sphere of another country and serve as an extra American vote in the UN.

However, joining Kenya is not as luctrative as it sounds. Yes, you will be a minority but not in the American sense. Americans are way more developed politically and this will be welcome to African politics 101. Kenya is usually ranked as one of the most corrupt countries in the world. NFD people have been Kenyan for decades and what have they got to show for it? And I don't mean in the form of a few token govt positions. Any real tangible benefit to being Kenyan? NFD is probably as developed as Jubbaland now without any govt for 20+ years.
