Adan Loow: Man who started Italo-Abbysinian War

Adan Shire Jama aka "Adan Loow"; the man who shot the first shots in the Italo-Abbysinian war and organized the first free Somali elections in 1960. Adan Loow struck the first shot heard around East Africa and that brought the Italians and Abbysinians head on.This saw the eventual Italian takeover of the Ethiopian state and Haile Salassie escaping into exile. He later became one of the finest administrators in the trusteeship government, took the position of Interior Minister in the trusteeship colonial government, organized the first free Somali elections, and continued to be a high profile minister post-Somali independence in the 60's (Minister of Justice). They called him "Loow" because he was wounded in the knee during war.

Adan Loow also the started a party in the trusteeship administration which he succeeded to bring to parliament when he was able to win a seat in the early trusteeship government (before he switched over to SYL like most of his clansmen).




Once Somalia gained independence, Adan Loow who by that time was a respected politician and one of the most vociferous in Somalia was able to succeed in becoming the Minister of Justice during the 60's
