I don't recall, it was such a long time ago. Why don't we ask our friends stuck in a time loop? I think Somaliland's entire ideology is based upon the plot of Groundhog Day

So aerial-bombardments of cities is a joke, your own government wants to ethnically cleanse you and its funny?

Zinji dalka kacaanku iska ma lahayn if Siyad bare was the president Cabdilahi yusuf maxa u diidaya xukunka after all Siyad bare said it him self Qori caraadis baan ku imi xukunka Qori caraadis uun ba la igaga saari kara Maxa u diidaya General Caydiid inu Xukumo Somali ileen rag waxa wada shidaya Xukun mise waxad leedahay dad gaar uun ba wax xukumi kara dadka kale raaciyad ha noqota well thats now how the world works my friend.
Siyaad Barre never said that. He came to power, without a single shot being fired.
Secondly, you asked "Cabdullahi Yusuf maxa u diidaya xukunka"? Well, two things, he has committed treason against Somalia and second thing is, he was busy sleeping in a Ethiopian Jail for 6 or 7 years.

Where did I make fun of bombardments
Wallahi you lot are beginning to remind me more and more of Israel, with the whole playing up the guilt thing and the "never again" mentality.
I guess it's worked wonders for them, so good luck with that

Baed,
That day isn't something to laugh about. When you think about it, its hard to find it funny.
Sure, ''never again'' is a good thing. Why would anyone want it again.

I get the thread now. It's we MOD were great ones. Look how low you have fallin.lol
Saxarow, these are the sons and shemales of those who lost. They like there older generation who raped the country and brought it to it's knees, have no morals or principals, just greed.
They will do anything to ignore any errors committed by the regime which fed them. Don't give them the satisfaction of asking them for justification or honesty. You will get none.
Bottom line is they hate us and we keep moving on.

Seriously?
I was obviously mentioning the fact that most Somalilanders seem to be living in a mindset where it's 1988 every year, where the big bad faqash are going to kill you or "ethnically cleanse" you. The fact that I'm mentioning 1988 as a low point in Somali history highlights my feelings towards those events.
I thought that was pretty clear, but apparently not.

Pinky,
The government was protecting the cities by bombing from the air? Oh,really? Then they later tried to displace the clans that lived there by bringing other clans from parts of Ethiopia (ogadens) and resettling them.Similar to ethnic cleansing. They tried to get rid of the ''problematic clan'' as a solution.

It was not clear. Saying 1988 and then a couple of

in the same line, expresses antipathy at best towards those events.

The entire city of Burco was captured by SNM militia, they killed any Pro-Government citizens, Police and Government officials. They systematically massacred the Daarood and Hawiye civilians. They killed Captain Faslo, for God's sake. Yet, here we have Dhabayaco Moderators cheering for Somaliland on Snet.
The entire Isaaq population of Burco and half of Hergeisa fled the city during the SNM take over. The city had 95% SNM militia, hiding in homes, to create Urban-Warfare. The Government strategically bombarded HOMES that were being used by SNM militia to hide in and fight with the government from.
Just like EVERY War, there will always be civilian casualties. Look at the United States, despite being the strongest Country, the countries they invaded resulted in civilian casualties that weren't meant to be hurt. It's CALLED WAR...accidents happen.

Was that the same clan (Ogaden) that formed the SPM and rebelled against the government?
No country in the world would tolerate an armed invasion by a rebel group funded primarily by their neighbors, who constitute an existential threat to everything they worked hard to build.
If Texas were to receive military aid from Mexico to overthrow Washington, do you think Obama would hesitate dropping an H-Bomb?
If Eastern Somaliland was given weapons by Djibouti, what would Siilaanyo's response be today?

You were clearly jumping to conclusions because of my clan and political beliefs, but whatever bro.

Couldn't have said it better.
