Maybe they are not "100%" altruistic, but then the money ambition has to come a certain sense of principle, a dedication, and a real belief in the cause for these nations to have persisted for so long when so many other equally desperate African countries have under weighed the money and influence vis-a-vis real sacrifice for it. The desire for money can be shared, but beyond that the sense of principle, the dedication, and the real belief in the cause cannot be emulated; it has to be internally manifested and it is in that respect we should recognize them.I have to say it is more than money. After all, the same amount of money and support provided to Uganda would be provided to all other African countries who did step...
...Even the ulterior motives mentioned by the always cynical, suspicious, and the uneducated, illiterate Somalis with overly emotional pseudo-nationalistic jingoism is not comparable, a "quid pro quo" for the sacrifice shown by these nations.

And then what when they leave? We fall back in disunity and go back to taking arms against each other? I mean how long can you pick this cycle up? At some point you have to use the brain God gave you and realize that pattern is untenable.the only thing positive about them is they unite somalis.we set our differences aside as long they they meddeling our afairs.seriously they have nothing to do in Somalia.

Well Meru a free and civilized society allows all kind of debate and participation as long as it is within the parameters of the law. I do not mind they have these views, but I would prefer if they didn't which is why I feel I should show them the full nature of the discourse to them. Oftentimes we Somalis are prevented from deep introspection as long as we stick to surface mantras and surface rhetoric devoid of of any depth or substance. A topic like this serves as a wake up call to those who don't really even know why they daily insult the sacrifice of our African brothers due to the face they have never had to question it.voltage, you are a true Somali patriot, those who criticize you are traitors,we will arrest them soon bro

It is really 100% arrogance built on the back of ignorance; a sense of self-wroth that is extremely convoluted. I see this a lot with older Somalis and I laugh; when I see it in younger Somalis who should be more educated it distresses me. I am always reminded of what Peter Bridges (the former American ambassador to Somalia in the 80's) wrote in his memoirs. He said:P.S. If you try to reason with village idiots you will lose your braincells. I meet many here who spin conspiracies that Somalia is a highly prized nation and assess a worth that does not exist. If there is any nation that needs salvaging and is more important to the West, it would be Yemen not Somalia.
Really this is what drives some of these pseudo-nationalists and they are so impractical in that basis of rationale, it irks me immensely. The American ambassador to Somalia back in the days, Peter Bridges, said it as much. He said "Somalis believe themselves to be the center of the world, when they hardly exist in it's periphery".
