Voltage,
My dads mother is Marhan and so is my mothers grandmother,
And one of them is reer Cigaal Siyaad so maaha.
Ogadenka iyo anaga iyo dadkaa kale I only debate with them because I am against Azania not that I am against Ogaden as president of Jubbaland or think my clan should only rule. When I talk to you as a Puntander about Jubbaland, I come at you simply from perspective of deegaan. Marehan were majority of whole parts of Xamar and I was born there does that mean my can contest golaha deegaanka? Even then in a future Jubbaland, I believe the only qualifier of being a citizen of the state is to live in it, not based on clan.
You are still obsessed with that clan based stuff. I am long over it. This was me 2 years ago in Sade private
Cool Poison what's been said here reminds me of colonial Africa trying to transition into post-colonial Africa. You had the British giving the Mende, the Temne, the Fulla, Creole etc separate political leadership to the point every tribe acted as a sovereign and viewed itself individual and it took Sierra Leone 60 years and one of Africa's most destructive civil wars and a British re-invasion to fashion them into the even shaky nation it is today.
I do shake my head with disappointment when I see a young Somali men who are educated still following a tribal hegemony political outlook in place of a national objective. It is as if we cannot even fathom to see a Somali nation which should be our overall state.
The number one reason why I supported Shabaab (and I still support this aspect of them) is because an Isaaq man is leader in Kismaayo and no Mareexaan, no Ogaadeen, no one can bat an eye and question his legitimacy to be there without getting their socks knocked off. Warsame writes here a reer Siyaad recounting a Shabaab militia in Garbahareey. What point does it make if they have Gaaljecel in them or not? That SPDC speaking against the organization of Shabaab and protesting their conduct is one thing, calling upon the tribal emotions of the audience with "ayagoo Gaaljecel ah" and "my city" shows exactly why that nature of Shabaab is a blessing to Somalia. Does it make it better if the guy was a Marehan Shabaab and if it does, is that not the crux of the matter of why Somalia has fallen so low and cannot get up? Get them off of the tribal political mindset!
If you talk to Ogaadeen they will say, Shabaab "ayagoo Mareexaan ah" bay Kismaayo haysadaan. Bal eeg, Shabaab is an organization that is not run on clan, does not use clan as political foundation, and has no clan ambitions why does it matter the clan compositions of their representatives when they should be judged based on the ideology that brought them together?
War when and only when Somalis start saying Shabaab "ayagoo xagjir ah" will we see the first signs of sophistication of political positioning and should show us the social transformation created has worked. Until then, waxa uga sii fiican inay ku jiraan ma arko except an established and full functioning central government. I shudder to think of Somalia reverting back to the tribal factionalism of the pre-ICU days. It is trully an extreme form of socio-politico retardation and its stagnant history is a judge.
