Somalis who wear Arab clothing

Postby anonymousfaarax » Tue Nov 22, 2011 4:27 pm

Somalida who wear Arab clothing like khameez. When I see them I think WTF. You are not arab so why would you wanna wear their clothes :?

Especially those who are 'wadaad' sheikh etc. Just because they are learned in the deen, manshallah, dos not mean they need to abandon their culture and identity and start to wear arab clothing. Let the arab clothing be for the arabs and rock your own clothing, its f-king embarrassing inay dad kale isku dhedhejiyaan

A pair of jeans and a good shirt. Hoodie is optional.

No, but I see where you are coming from. To some people, there is a direct, positive correlation between religiosity and Arabism. The more religious you become, the more of an Arab you should become.

I dont get it, and being born and raised in the Gulf, Arab speaking etc, I never felt need to conform, it was obviously a cultural thing there.

It's always  worthy when you see Somalis who spent their entire lives in the West say mashallah when they see a random picture of a khaleeji man dressed in his traditional clothing or khaleeji women in abaaya. Even non practicing khaleejis wear those clothes
