No Peace/War Zone : Puntland is Crumbling

Postby galia » Mon Dec 05, 2011 8:49 am

Not a week goes by without the assisantion or bombing of a intellectual/wealthy man in Puntland.
It seems that the place is a war zone, this week a distinguished man was killed by Haraakat Al-shabaab mujahid assassins who worked for East Africa University.

Now the few wealthy and intellectuals are leaving Puntland on mass because the place is simply a war zone.

Too Abdisamad i say what goes around goes around
After morning prayers Dr. Ahmed Haji Abdirahman was shot and killed near his home in the neighborhood Biyo Kulule in the city of Bossaso, Radio Garowe reports.

Dr. Ahmed was amongst re-known scholars in Puntland and spoke at a Islamic lecture held last night at Rowda Mosque.

He was an honorary member of at the East African University in Bossaso and also a professor at the Islamic School of Law. It is not known who killed Dr. Ahmed; he was shot repeatedly after leaving Hasan Bin Ali mosque near his home. He died of his wounds before he could be taken to a hospital.

Dr. Ahmed was a prominent Islamic scholar; he obtained a PHD in Islamic studies.

Dr. Ahmed was killed as he left a mosque and just a few hours earlier gave a speech at his local mosque. Locals said this tragedy will be felt throughout Puntland.

Puntland security officials say they are investigating this crime.
