Punt oil belongs to Puntland and once Somalia gets a real government, obviously the locals should still get the most benefit especially if that government will not be giving them a good trade off like taking care of roads, hospitals, and other social services which the central government is supposed to majority provide.

I read a lot of jealous laden writings from HG people. One even saying "Somalis will invade you and take it". Build Guriceel, Cadaado, and Hobyo and concentrate on finding resources there instead of using the Somali name for something you can do nothing about.

All Somalis have a say, although we happy that oil is discovered in parts of Somalia, this could have consequences for all Somalis, whether its instability, oil spills, foriegn interest and involvement in Somali politics( you thought America was involve in Somalia before, waite now)
Puntland is region in Somalia, there is no central government in Somalia yet, there is Ethiopian invasion in south-central, there is Kenya bombing in deep south, there is assasination and instability in Galkacyo, you can't just go ahead and sign off contracts without acknowledging all the issues, laws and people involved . if the federal constitution was passed and Puntland was made a state, then yes, but nothing is pass yet, and all the land and its minerals is own my the federal government, no one divided land to anyone, its just tribal dicision, so I think constitutionally its not legal, but economically yes.

I think sheikh shariif is playing poor politics for being quite about a lot of things such as SCC state and Puntland making foriegn contracts.

Honestly, none of us have any say over the situation. Not the people in favor nor against, but while even I share some of the reservations expressed by Black Velvet and so would most rational people, I just find it pathetic how members of a single clan in Snet have the most expressed negativity towards what happened today including calls for invasion from "Somalis" as well as acting like the keys to Somalia or its positions are judged by them and their rubric.
