Hargaysa was totally destroyed in 1978 by the Ethiopian/Soviet union, It seems like the Somalilanders of today have deleted that from their memory, the Somali government rebuild the city and provided extra security in the case of another Ethiopian air strike against Hargaysa. the SNM were lackeys for the Ethiopian regime and used as a proxy in attacking Somalia, the Somali government signed a mutual-peace deal with Ethiopia on the grounds that it would not harbor anti-Somalia elements including its proxy-SNM, this resulted in the expulsion of the SNM and the desperation of the movement lead to the city attacks killing civilians in both Burco and Hargaysa until they were finally destroyed themselves at the cost of even more Somali casualties. the destructive SNM terrorist movement and its former members should all be brought to Justice.
