Saraxnow people on the ground are pro secession because they have been told the riches that comes with seccession. Who would want to wait for a country who could not get their shit together, told hold you back, from the attention, support, funding, that comes with seccession? Now that attention is being focused on the ground, and Somalia begins to stand up, the people of Somaliland will start to begin to consider that Unity is the best policy for their own interests. The voices that are being muffled will soon begin to rise, and the group think that is forcing any politician or intellectual to even doubt their current aims will soon to give way. I don't believe that this will happen tomorrow, but in the coming years, Somaliland like a true democracy will have many voices speaking about the best way forward. :sland:

Brother Almost 52 years ago it was the population that forced the Somaliland leadership to deliver them the "Union". The only union left between Somalia-italia and Somaliland is one that is resurrected by the Civilians. A future union will not be dictated by the diaspora or politicians nor the international community.

The only way to revive unionist sentiment within the Somaliland population is to be given the opportunity to taste total seperation from their former Union partners regardless of individual opinion on the matter. Respect the wishes of the people who originally demanded the Union and now see a flaw with that union.

The under 25 population of Somaliland that makeup above 70% associate negativity with the union. It is ilogical to force that population against their wishes and then expect a genuine unity that benefits all concerned.

The Majority must taste indepedence and experience it long enough for it to fail them before they will ever buy into another union.

The wish of the people will persevere...
