I don't think so. I believe Puntland has Somalia's best interests at heart. I believe Puntland is sincere about ending the transition and having a full functioning government. I believe that Puntland wants Somalia to be economically prosperous and stable. I believe Puntland wants Somalia to be economically integerated, stable, and coheisive. I also believe that Puntland wants a clear constitution that lays out the roles of states/federal levels clearly (albeit in the way it sees fit). I also believe that Puntland doesn't want to give up it's achievements for a faulty system that is not likely to succeed. Puntland has the right to lobby for the best possible solution for Somalia. Puntland is not the big bad wolf. Puntland knows if Somalia suceeds, they suceed. So it is high time we need to get out of this Puntland is out to destroy Somalia mentality.

No one would dispute that Puntland want to see the end of the transition and ofcourse it want Somalia to work since it will be part and parcel of Somalia and the country's wellbeing will benefit them. But here is the trick they want somalia to work in a way that maximises their local interest at the expense of others in the country and that is the source of the current dispute. For example, they want a parliamentry system which they think is good for good while others prefer the presidential system. They want Muqdisho to be neutral and controlled by the federal government, Muqdishaawis dont like that.

its always isaaqs that propagate such an absurd notion through different formats, the important thing is that Somalis will always avoid the failed concept of the strong centralized government. Puntland raised 36 relevant issues which it has with the new draft... all sticky issues concerning federalism and how the sharing of natural resources should be allocated. Yet the PM puts such sticky points on bar with non sticky issues such citizenship, language and our religion which are all things we share that could be easily overcame.
