Why are you guys denying a fact. Somalia lost that war and had to retreat, giving back the land it had conquered from the ethiopians, in the face of Soviet/communist onslaught.

We lost that war because Somalia over-reached itself and because afweyne knew as much about strategy and geo-politics as an orang-utan with TB. That war shouldn't have even been fought and anyone with 2 brain-cells to rub together can see that. The Somali government should've armed and trained rebel groups in Ethiopia and watch that political/ethnic tinder-box burn.

Get over it.

I agree with AbdiWahab252.

Israel sent a few pilots to fight alongside Ethiopians.

Abdi you read a Mohamed Farah Aidid book about Ogaden War.

What does Mohamed Farah Aidid say about Ogaden War?

According Farah Aidid why Somalia lost the war in 1977?

Luis1,

The war was poorly planned and executed. Somalia lost the war due to poor leadership that lead the armed forces of Somalia whom the USSR spent millions developing were destroyed by an overwhelming alliance of the USSR & satellite states. The USSR tried reasoning with Barre to with draw and settle for a portion of the territory but he refused. He made the same mistakes that saw Saddam Hussein destroy his military.

Kuubo naas dheer, are you by any chance a Mingiste's off spring? The only man who had a bad scar from Ogaden war is Mingiste and his regime. He lost the war, and its noted in hearts and minds of all Ethiopians. History doesn't lie.

Hi,How are you?

Do you have any source which prove Somalia won the Ogaden War?

I would like to see sources and books about the great somali victory in Ogaden War.

I have been asking for these sources since 2006 and nobody can show me one source until now. Why?
