Shirib, he studied agricultural engineering all the way to PhD, then Somalia imploded as he was student. Then he got masters and PhD in information technology. He is one of those in charge of East Asia and Latin America for a fortune 100 company now.

Somalia doesn't need a President with a PhD they need a president that can win the hearts and minds of the people on the ground.

Since Bashiir has been absent from the country for decades, I don't see how he can win the hearts and minds of the people on the ground. Only locals who have been there through all those years are qualified to lead the country. Not someone who is almost a foreigner.

Arabman, you don't make any sense. How can a person who is all qualified for executive leaderahip (he is an executive with IBM managing programs throughout East Asia from Tokyo where he has been based) be less qualified to be a leader of Somalia if not more? What's the stipulation of being a leader of Somalia? Having lived there last twenty years? So Muuse Suudi or any warlord Marehan or otherwise needs only that to be suitable let alone more suitable than Bashir to lead?

Don't make any sense. Somalia's local culture is not alien to the man he was born and grew up there. In fact someone also with an outside perspective is needed and with his qualifications in this time where Somalia will have to fight against an opportunistic international community who will attempt to neo-colonize Somalia. Frankly we need someone who can put on their shoes and analyze and beat having experience in their highest posts.

Isn't someone with Bidaar's qualifications supposed to facilitate the neo-colonization of Somalia by the opportunistic international community? Seriously, will the opportunistic international community allow the election of someone who actually works against the neo-colonization of Somalia? If Bidaar is elected, it will be because the opportunistic international community made it possible.

By all means give him a Minister job. President? Hell no. Perfectly suited for Minister of Agriculture.
