Yes but they were ethnically jew, just like the Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) is ethnically arab. All sons of ishamael= arabs

depends what angle you are coming from but some words can be interchangeable. i understand what you mean in the essence that nowadays judaism has become an inherited religion; one cannot simply convert to Judaism if he doesn't have ancestors who professed Judaism, hence ethnic judaism, i guess you won some brownie points there

Btw, not all sons of Ishaaq (as) were jews. He was also the ancestor of the Romans (banu asfar).
