Caalin's term was supposed to only last 2-3 years. Not sure whether he was allowed to run again in re-election or whether he had to step aside entirely.

Very strange though. It seems like the Somalia constitution and Parliament MP arrangements overshadowed the Galmudug elections. Or I assume that our friend here posted election results before anything was mentioned by the media?

It was a foregone conclusion. The people wanted AbdiQeybdiid due to his strong leadership and popularity. He showed himself as a capable leader when he vastly improved security in Galmudug 2 years ago by banning the the carrying of guns in public, removed every isbaaro and brought law & order.

I was phoned from Galkacyo when the results were announced.

The problem is that every Tom, ceeb and Harry thinks he has clout. I belong to the old school who judge your power in how many techniko and gunmen you got.
