Meles was eliminated because of his strategy of playing out the Western powers against the Chinese. He would make regional and military alliances with the west but his main economic partner was the Chinese. He did not give any Western nations any bigger economic contracts he only let in the Chinese and other nations. What many forget is that Meles didn't gain absolut power until 2001 when he outmanouvered and arrested his main rivals. I believe that he wanted to get rid of the Western dependancy but he was already shoulder deep in and his problem was that he did not have enough popular support to make any bold moves to get rid of the dependancy. Meles was too coward and too comfortable in his position as an errand boy but I still believe he had ambitions to get rid off his masters.

With the fall of dictators around Africa like the likes of Gadafi, Mubarak etc I used to ask my self times up for the midget in Ethiopia he served too long and any coup de tat was out of question because he had infiltrated the EDF while Meles enjoyed full support of the west. Conspiracy theory builds up and maybe the west saw that this dude served so long that regime change had to be done rather than expecting an uprising simmilar to the one that happened in North Africa. The West is finding it very difficult to come to terms with this challenge. So the question is was Meles eliminated? We all know one thing for sure is every dictator that is the Wests ally fall out after 2 decades. Mobuto et al being an example.
Something to ponder about just before Meles died the president of Ethiopia Girma wolde gogis(Oromo) died 3 months ago.Ethiopias patriach Abuna Paulos head of the powerful coptic church also dies. What a mystery.

War is coming to the horn, meles wasn't the puppet to lead that war, get ready sh*t is going to hit the roof soon.
what makes you think war will outbreak?

bcoz that has always been the plan, meles delayed it when he was meant to speed it up. hence the cia are dictating who takes over now and they are picking a known war mongrel cabinet and PM in ethiopia.
