Lool, My fathers cousin was a member and he is HJ. He was a member in the SNM and after they toppled Siyaad Barre together with USC and other groups. He traveled south and was later a part of the TFG. Now his wife is a member in the parliament. There are many Isaaqs though.

I was quite shocked to find some are running in the elections, that's all. Maybe some people are in the dark about it as I was/am ..so they need to know who these patriotic Somalis who don't support secession of any type are.

They have always been in the government and have ministerial posts. I am surprised you didn't know.

These two have been Foreign Ministers in TFG Ismail Hurre Buuba (nice guy ) and Rage Omaar's brother.

Isaaq have had MP's and been in the cabinet since Carta. This isn't something new. I can't believe you didn't know this.
