Times are changing, Ethiopia is no longer the big Christian monster next door. Rather it has turned into a Muslim majority nation and will soon become the Muslim powerhouse of Africa. I like the current situation, Liyu polis controlling the cities in the region whilst ONLF is king in the countryside and continues to terrorize the Ethiopian army. However if these negotiations will benefit the people on the ground (because that's who matters, not the opinion of an cagdheer in the west living comfortably whilst calling for more bloodshed to the inhabitants of the land) then I fully support this initiative.

I'm just not sure how serious the Kibaki regime is abt this issue. They shouldn't have appointed Ysuf Haji; he's too old and has too many responsibilities. The objective of ONLF and any liberation movement for that matter, is not to bargain for more privileges or better representation in the government of their oppressor, it is to liberate the people from their oppressor, that's it.
