Why has Ahlu Sunnah survived clannism?

Postby grandpakhalif » Fri Oct 05, 2012 4:22 pm

It is clear that these 3 clans: Marehan, Habar Gidir (Ayr) and Dir share a special bond and have yet to fracture into clan militias. Ahlu Sunnah thrives in Hiiraan, Gedo, Galgaduud and Galmudug.

We have also seen the success of inter-clan relationships through ASWJ and even Al shabab.

Somalis united under one idealogy are unbreakable, but when we are left to our own whims triblaism shall always seep through the cracks.

Because Sufis look beyond tribes, actually same goes for Al-Shabab but they are Al-Qaed- *cough* Al-CIAda linked which doesn't make them an authentic somali movement, while as ASWJ can be seen as a somali islamic movement, maybe it has a little support from the ethiopian armed forces but it doesn't make a difference does it.
