When the Somali government collapsed, the country also lost its airline and all air links for people and goods to move in and out of Somalia. As thousands fled, Mohammed Yassin Olad, a Somali businessman, saw opportunity and started Daallo Airlines. As he notes, Daallo Airlines is a business, but also a humanitarian endeavor as for many years Daallo maintained the only outside link for this isolated, troubled nation. Daallo’s hurdles are unimaginable. There are no banks, so all transactions must be in cash. Without a government, they have to maintain the airports. Despite the problems, the market is profitable enough that five other carriers sprung up. Without a government there are no safety regulations, particularly for the other airlines that fly only within Somalia, but despite war and lack of government, in the 14 years they have been flying Daallo has never had any safety problems. The carrier now has offices in London and Paris and offers long-haul flights from Europe to Somalia. As Olad notes, sometimes it is difficult not having a government, but sometimes it is a plus. Corruption is not a problem because there is no government, he says smiling broadly.

^ Miskiin Siciid, even Habar Joonis greatest achievers cannot fill up an entire page on Somalinet. Less than 15 individuals is what Siciid always brags about. And, why does he always use the same old debunked statistics, which has been proven over and over to be not credible?

choose now dir/irir or fake arab ( we know the real truth)

Somaliland will be ruled by hawiye, but we are fair you will get your own regional leaders and things.

If we look back in history the last democratic elected government of the former Somali republic, Somalilanders had six Ministers 4 coming from the isaaq tribal family and one from the Gadabuursi and one from the Dhulbahante. This was the government formed by the late Muhammad Haji ibrahim Cigaal.

It says Daarod had 6. That's beating everyone individually. Plus, 3 of them were heavy ministerial posts, such as Defense, Interior and Justice. Perhaps the Minister of Livestock could be major as well, since livestock is very important in Somali society.

Isaaqii waxa lagu maawayliyey berigas ministerial positions daaciif ah. Why is that?

In the last government hawiye had 5 Ministers but didn't had the prime minister or President. I am talking about the formula how Somalilanders were represented when Somaliland and Somalia were one country under the Somali republic. It still wasn't fair since the Koonfurians had far more positions, also Majeerteen dominated that govt Majeerteen had 3 ministers while Merehaan leelkase had no Minister, Gadabuursi had one Minister that was the ministerial position monday was talking about that was in 1969. In 1960 Somaliland had only 3 ministers.
