No , he owned Shridoon Company Limited throughout the 1980's while still working at the WB and IMF. His company was given a monoply on supplying millitary rations throughout the somali republic . Also his company was one of the few to be given licence to imports sugar, wheat and rice in particular in all of the north. It was at the same time when Xoosh-kibray was given monopoly import licence.
Dude that is BS, Somalia never had such licence, you had the money you could import sugar, rice ect. My father used to import those products and sometimes together with Maxamed Dheere and Abdukar Cumar Cadaani.

The Afweyne's government gave exclusive import licences to choose few, that is not something we have to argue now? everybody knows, the government also gave loans ppl who cant pay back which caused the banks to fail in the end.No , he owned Shridoon Company Limited throughout the 1980's while still working at the WB and IMF. Yes, and Shirdoon Company Limited was one of them owned by this prime minister, so whats your point? The Afweyne's government gave exclusive import licences to choose few, that is not something we have to argue now? everybody knows, the government also gave loans ppl who cant pay back which caused the banks to fail in the end.No , he owned Shridoon Company Limited throughout the 1980's while still working at the WB and IMF. its a very legitimate concern because if he was working for the IMF/World Bank, then he definitely shares an opinion that Somalia should stay privatized and food will have to always be imported when there are valleys and farms that can feed the whole country many times over...A World Bank or I.M.F Official in power is very suspecious , these are the same guys who broke the somali farmers in the 1980's by flooding the somali market with USAID food , in 4 years there was no somali grain produced by farmers , many farmers left their farms and went in to the city , the somali currency was devalued . While advocating that austerity program fot eh people this dude had a monoply licene given to him by uncle-Afweyne to corner the market and supply millitary rations all by himself for the huge somali army and sugar, rice , and wheat and further crippled the somali farmers.
Thats my issue with him and his like, this dameer abgaal hijacked the thread into clannism.

I dont understand the relationshp b/w privatization and food importation? Somalia will have a free market economy which actually encourages commercial farming, all government needs to do is to support local commercial farming while discouraging food importation through tax and non tax barriers.its a very legitimate concern because if he was working for the IMF/World Bank, then he definitely shares an opinion that Somalia should stay privatized and food will have to always be imported when there are valleys and farms that can feed the whole country many times over...A World Bank or I.M.F Official in power is very suspecious , these are the same guys who broke the somali farmers in the 1980's by flooding the somali market with USAID food , in 4 years there was no somali grain produced by farmers , many farmers left their farms and went in to the city , the somali currency was devalued . Somalia will have a free market economy which actually encourages commercial farming, all government needs to do is to support local commercial farming while discouraging food importation through tax and non tax barriers.
