PM: My govt will not name admin for regions, respects locals

Postby The`Republic » Sat Oct 20, 2012 4:03 pm

Looks like the serious practice of federalism has began; new pm basically says regional administrations are local issues and locals have ownership over it; it is not a job for his government which only supports the choice of locals

It is in my humble opinion that Federalism will not work in Somalia but if we are going to take Federalism at moment we need an interim admin in the liberated regions until the situations is stabilized and the Parliament finalizes the clauses regarding the federal structure.

Mark My words. There will never be a Federal Admin for Benadir while it is serving as the Capital. The 2nd Benadir renounces claims to being the Capital the locals there are free to do what they wish. Until then and not a second before Benadir is public domain and not local domain.

Dad aan la barin never say never. If an admin is named for Banadir and nor elsewhere its locals need to be killed just like xoolo.

Federalism is only appealing in theory but its far from practical for Somalia today. Most people are overwhelmingly supportive of this Federalism idea because each wants his little clan to have some ownership and borders drawn for. Realistically you can't hand a federal system to people who are XOOLO and have no understanding of governance or nationalism. Federalism is the new excuses to stay in the stone ages and breed more Qabyalaad and hostility.
If locals were to have the say in their affairs, the why for the last 22 years innocent lives have been lost due to meaningless war, famine etc... Where were these respectable, peaceful people who are to serve their locals? Gosh Somalis are so f-king retarded... Pardon my lang

Ismahan,

You are right in that at the end of the day Federalism is not gonna transform a Nation with a very low human recourse into something. I also agree that Somalis have a horrible understanding of Federalism to be basically a Nation, side by side with Somalia in Mogadishu which doesn't make any sense. Stuff like Foreign Policy, major trade agreements with other nations, as well as other things are for the National Government. However I do believe that Federalism if practiced right and the way its supposed to be can be a good solution for Somalia. Right now the Central Gov cannot provide services such as security, crisis management, border protection, police, etc. so locals have to step up and do this and the only way they could is under a political administration.

Dangirl,

There is no reason for the PM to oppose Federalism

Greenday,

This is not keyboard ku dirir but simple Civics. America's Caital Washgington DC, USA a Federal District. Somalia's Capital Mogadishu, Somalia a Federal District

Osob,

I would but I really have no desire for it although I know many who have. Theres other places in Somalia I'd target before.

Murax time to quit calling Muqdisho a capital and look for your own just as the people of Puntland have.
